Holboellia coriacea
An attractive woody flowering vine, hardy to 0° F and semi-evergreen in the Pacific NW; can be fully evergreen in warmer climates. This temperate East Asian native is a fast grower with glossy green leaves and fragrant purple-colored flowers. It bears an attractive two inch long purple edible fruit. Considered self fertile, but you’ll get larger harvests with 2 different varieties.
Will be happier in part or afternoon shade in warmer regions. Usually 6′ tall and spreading to 10′-12′ wide. Hardy to USDA Zones 7.
